My experience with ‘older’ printers and Windows 7 or 8 or Windows 10? If the printer is more than a few years old, its drivers (and hardware) have long gone out of date and are no longer supported. I’m not advocating one printer manufacturer’s gear over the other. This stopped all my printer driver gymnastics. And the Epson printer’s software works very well with Windows 10. I replaced the HP printer with an Epson printer I got on sale at my favorite office supply store, Staples ($129 vs. It was well beyond its support horizon (although like it seems you do) I like to drive my gear into the ground before I replace it. I had the HP printer for at least five years. Bought it from Walmart on sale and I loved that it worked without complaint.
A few months back I finally stopped trying to perform Herculean gymnastics to make an HP 4630 printer work with Windows 10.
